SOUNDCHECK! – Summit County’s newest nonprofit organization has announced their first two public dates. Rock To Recover was established this year by Eric Turner, with the mission to: “Create a safe and welcoming environment for Summit County locals who have experience with mental health and/or substance use difficulties, while establishing a sober community with a focus on creating music together and fostering positive mental health”. If this sounds like a combination of an open mic jam session where information on local mental health resources and organizations is available, you are correct!
They have announced that they will be hosting an event operation walk-through for their Acoustic Sessions for volunteer orientation on November 28th at the Frisco Community Center. They are inviting everyone who is interested in learning more about Rock To Recover, participating in the events, helping test equipment, or volunteering to come by.
