Info for Rotarians

The only thing better than a good Rotary project is… thousands of good Rotary projects all over the world, all on the same day.  Working together, we can do good on an immense scale.  It’s newsworthy, fun, and can help raise money for even more service all year long.  It’s EPIC!”

USE THE EPIC DAY TO…

ENERGIZE.  For clubs with a strong service culture, the EPIC Day is a perfect fit. For other clubs, it can help galvanize members, reminding them of the joy and purpose that come with Service Above Self.

Grow.  The EPIC Day’s PR and website make it easy for the public to sign up. In one state, 40% of participants were non-Rotarians, multiplying the impact for our communities. These community volunteers like to serve, and may decide Rotary is a good fit for them. Also, you can re-engage and retain underactive members by asking for “all hands on deck”.

FUND.  Some clubs have averaged over $750 per member… net! All of it is for your own club’s service budget. Fundraising is optional, but it’s the easiest big fundraiser ever, and can bring in donations from across the nation. No committee to form and no auction items to solicit.

Service Projects – Clubs can do whatever projects they want. It can be as simple as scheduling an existing project for the EPIC Day.  However, the EPIC Day can offer unique benefits that a typical project may not.  See this 2-pager:

Fundraising – It’s like a cancer walk, only for service.  When Rotarians sign up, they automatically get their own fundraising page, like GoFundMe.  They also get an email to send friends & family nationwide asking for support and including the link to the fundraising page.  Donations flow first to a 501(c)(3) foundation that sends each donor a thank you and tax receipt and notifies the Rotarian of the donation.  After the EPIC Day, the foundation sends each club one big check for all the donations its members raised.  The only deduction is the unavoidable credit card processor’s fee and less than 5% to cover any hard costs that benefit all the clubs.
